This One Goes up to Eleven

Today is Arx Axiom’s 11th Birthday.  According to this and other statistics we’ve beaten the odds.  There’s a line from “2046” one of my favorite films from Wong Kar-wai  the protagonist summarizes a Chinese proverb: “When you don’t take “no” for an answer, there is still a chance you’ll get what you want” and that’s probably the best advice I’ve gotten through this experience.  Tenacity.  Determination.  Persistence. Stubborn refusal to acknowledge the downside.  Just don’t give up,  that’s the only way to make it in this crazy business.

There have since been some upgrades.

We have a ton of people to thank. Family mostly, friends who have stuck with us through thick and thin and all the clients and associates who have worked with us, trusted us and given us a chance. You know who you all are and we thank you.

To the next eleven years…

I ran into an old friend, Matt Fagerholm, on the “L” a few weeks before Christmas.  I hadn’t seen Matt for years, and hadn’t really had a chance to catch up since film school at Columbia College Chicago.  That chance encounter turned into me getting interviewed for his new radio/podcast show on Indie Outlook.  Please check it out and leave your feedback.  This was a fun trip back in time and if you’re interested in how independent films get made, here’s a little insight:

Matt’s got a lot of other great interviews on Indie-Outlook and writes for Hollywood Chicago as well.  Be sure to check them out.

ALL IN

Video

I’ve recently had the privilege of being brought on to work as an editor on the Comcast Network production of “ALL IN: Naperville North Huskies.”  So far this show has been one of the best experiences I’ve had working in this industry.  The show is exciting and promises to be a hit.  Check out the trailer below and catch it on CN100 in Chicago or on XFINITY OnDemand:
